The TEN things I love on this Friday, day 12 of my 30 day challenge to write!

1. That this morning I held a baby who made my heart smile…and, then an hour later, I held a puppy that made my heart smile…by the time I went to my next meeting I wanted to hold an adult and make them smile.

2. My friends and my family. Every morning the moment my eyes open, before I get out of bed I say “thank you”. I think of each person in my life…see their face in my mind…and say, “thank you”. It is my little ritual that starts every one of my days reminding me how blessed I really am.

3. Dancing…I could dance ALL night long.

4. My good friend Mag’s made me 2 mix CD’s this week! Just makes me giddy.

5. Looking up and catching a man’s eyes that  takes your breath away…but… never showing it;).

6. Hearing from all my readers. It always makes me happy and feel grateful for what I do and the gift of connection.

7. When someone is kind hearted.

8. Romance in all its mysterious forms.

9. Working out…the satisfaction in the burn…and, of course, the results.

10. How I was just thinking this week that I miss hearing the birds sing in my new place…and, yesterday I am in my bedroom making up the bed…I look up and there is a Blue Jay sitting on the railing of my balcony…23 floors up! Like he came to say , “Hey there…we miss you too!”;)

1. Listening to Sigur Ros …calms me when I need it most.

2. Taking the luxury of shamelessly  flirting once in a while…

3. Squirrel watching…they make me laugh

4. When someone makes you a mix CD…to me, it is the most special gift…someone taking the time to share with you the music that moves them…

5. Being a spicy woman

6. Chelsea Handler…if I were a lesbian I would marry her.

7. Having a dream so good, you make yourself fall back asleep just so you can keep dreaming it.

8. Moments in a day that remind me love still trumps all…

9. Listening to ’summertime” songs…they have such a distinct feel to them:)

10. Friendship…true friendship. The times when you realize just how blessed you are with the quality of that in your life.

1. It is National Doughnut Day!! Need I say more??

2. 18 yr old single malt scotch. It is like drinking a man… Man in a glass Complex…yet, so simple.

3. Open doors…

4. Being a woman. Men don’t know what they are missing.

5. The moment you know you have genuinely helped another person…it reminds me of why we are all here in the first place.

6. Still getting carded…all the time.

7. Dogs. Angels on earth.

8. Pulling out old photos…listening to old music…watching old movies…honoring a time much different than what we are in now…

9. Romancing myself:) I make it an art form. 

10. Being out in the sun…feeling so disgustingly gross…then, taking a long shower…feeling so delightfully clean…then, having an ice cold beer!

The TEN things I LOVE on this FRIDAY!

1. Hearing strangers laugh so hard they can’t breathe…while I am writing in a coffee shop…which then makes me laugh…but I am sitting by myself…so, I look like a weirdo…

2. That the “Poison- old school rock and roll” shirt I usually wear out of facetiousness…I am wearing today and feel a ping of guilt for all the times I have made fun of Bret Michael’s bandana…So, with every time I would have made a sarcastic reply back to someone commenting on my shirt…I am going to think a thought of well being…Godspeed bandana man!

3. Trailer trash ice cream at the Pied Piper…I am making myself stay away.

4. Listening to women gossip this week…for no reason what so ever except to just fill air…and the gratitude I felt that somehow… even though sometimes I fall into the trap myself, I am missing that estrogen chip.  

5. Running into one of my best guy friends and having some wine with him…and then he talks me into a limoncello shot…and then more wine and before you know it? It is 4 in the afternoon .Those rare afternoon shenanigans…felt like skipping school.

6. How, in getting back to working out hard everyday…I find that the junk in my trunk forever remains…yet, the best in my chest is slowly disappearing must have been a bad pirate in a past life…that is the beauty of another year given…another chance to learn to love every inch.

7. My friends…I have some really wonderful friends…who I know without a doubt, love me for me.

8. My Mother. That deep- psychic bond we have that used to drive me nuts growing up because I could never hide a thing from her. But now, it is a cool thing when I  pick up the phone to call her and there is no dial tone… yet, it hasn’t rung…and I say, “Hello” and it is my Mother on the other end because she has dialed me in the exact moment. My Soul mate…and I love her dearly.

9. Freedom to do what I love to do…when I want to do it…how I want to do it.

7. My best guy friends who always have my back- I like to call them my Bootyguards:) When I am out, no man can get to me…unless I want them to…which is hardly ever.

8. Good tequila…it makes me smile and laugh and act silly:)

9. Trusting life…which requires trusting in change.

10. That my inner clock is forever stuck at 23 yrs old and always will be:)

2. How my sister reminded me that my first crush growing up was aqua man…yep…in my little imagination he was real.

3. How in every moment we get the opportunity to return to innocence.

4. That I bought and fit into a dress from the juniors department this week.

5. Kindness…from a stranger or someone I love…sometimes, kindness seems to be on the extinction list.

6. Love and magic…I will fight until my last breath to keep that alive in me.

7. Chicken wings.

8. How I think, in my little humble opinion… that being single is the new black.

9. The chicken and dumplings I had this week- my Great Grandmother, Vida Lee, used to make them from scratch for me when I was little.

10. Nostalgia…it is pure romance.

3. The ideas the Universe granted to me this week that really have some legs on them…I love it when they come with legs…

7. Seeing one of my friends succeed…I love that.

8. Coming to the realization this week that I have the full authority to fire my inner control freak:) …or at least send her on an extended vacation…

9. Sitting next to a woman in Starbucks that reminded me so much of my Grandmother…and looking up to find her smiling at me- only to talk with her and have her tell me I reminded her of her granddaughter…freaky! Goes back to # 5…my Grandmother is no longer here…to end up having a conversation with a perfect stranger that ends up giving me a giant hug…takes an open heart.

10.  That it  is my BF’s Birthday Weekend~ Happy Birthday Crown Cherry!!

1. The sound an “on the rocks” drink makes…

2. That my 4 year old nephew still demands to hear Coldplay before he goes to sleep at night…

3. As cheesy as it sounds, hearing “Don’t wanna miss a thing” this week and smiling because in my 30’s,  I feel that way about life…not a man.

4. The Mahi burgers from Taco Loco in Laguna Beach, CA – Oh, how I miss them…

5. A full tank of gas, clean sheets, a just washed car…new beginnings.

6. That when my Mom and I were going back and forth in a conversation yesterday, my nephew looked at my Mom and said, “Mimi, Aunt Amy is right. Now, stop talking.” I have never laughed so hard in my life…

7. Dancing around my living room…:)

8. Having one of my friend’s say my back side is “ba- dunka- dunk” and that I actually took the time to go to the Urban dictionary to see what it means…

9. Hearing from my readers…

10.  Steak and frites and that soon it will be Rose’ time again…oui, oui.

1. Watching the snow fall while in my bed writing this…

2. That the threat of being snowed in for some reason gave me the excuse to buy bacon… I hardly ever eat bacon~ but looking forward to a yummy bacon and egg sandwichJ

3. How life gives you the opportunity to run into someone who really did you some damage in a hurtful way a long time ago- and yet you find you just feel love for them. That is a really cool feeling.

4. Wearing my hair in pigtails…it just makes me feel five again.

5. When I look up and see a man for the first time…and with that one look from him, he reminds me in all the right ways that I am all womanJ

6. Sea salt and vinegar chips…

7. Watching the people in our country step up and help Haiti, even in our financial state right now…

8. Laughing so hard my cheeks hurt…

10. That the snow day today has given me the opportunity to stay at home and finish writing this new bookJ No excuses…

The TEN things I LOVE on this FRIDAY!

1. How I got behind a giant, jacked up truck this week- only to see a fake pair of balls hanging from the dude’s trailer hitch. I don’t know if you have ever seen that before? But, even though traffic was bad and I was stuck behind him for what seemed like an eternity? Every time those babies swung back and forth, I cracked up…very much needed that.

2. Sitting on the glass at a hockey game- no other way to watch it than that.

3. Watching snow fall while lying in my warm bed. A very peaceful feeling…

4. My friends, I love my friends this Friday- thankful to have such inspiring and giving people in my life.

5. Men… I love men. I have such a support system around me of men that love me, encourage me, protect me…and I totally believe it is for that fact alone. That I love them, for all the differences and brilliance.

6. I love what I do. I love hearing from the people who take the time to read my thoughts…everyday I am humbled in the outreach and connections that I make. I love the written word- Love it like a LOVERJ

7. Living downtown…I love feeling the pulse of a city.

8. Soul connections. Those rare times in life when I lay eyes on a person and something very deep inside just knows…this is a person who is going to move me…something very deep just knows in that one moment, there is no turning back- those people who stir your soul and help you discover that pain and beauty can be felt in the exact same moment- and so you learn that like a two sided coin, they really are one in the same. Those people that forever alter how you were living life and what you believed in before they crossed your path…I love those people.

9. The scent of my skin when I get out of the shower…so I guess I love my soapJ

10.  Romance- today I love and celebrate romance in my life.
