Downtown Spring break, “I am a sex addict” movie and Chicken soup for the a#$:)

Last night- I couldn’t sleep.
Could have something to do with the neighbors out on their balcony partying till 6 this morning- and I am not talking about mild partying- I am talking- it felt like I was back living in Daytona Beach during spring break-
On a Monday night???
I finally wrapped myself in a blanket- walked out on the fire escape at 4 am and just stared at them- all boys.
They smiled- drunk and high- asking , slathered in sexual innuendo, if I needed something.
I calmly replied, “ Nope, no… I just wanted to see the faces of the most ignorant a#$holes living in Nashville.”
They stood silent- eyes down- as if their Mother had come out and scolded them.
It helped for about an hour…
I don’t usually like calling people names…
But you keep me up all night? And not for good reasons…
Well… Amy V becomes MISS V with a capital ATTITUDE.
Before I was robbed of my beauty sleep- I was watching a movie.
One that I was surprisingly impressed with-
Actually laughed out loud throughout it and grew to feel all warm and fuzzy towards the movies main character-
“I AM A SEX ADDICT”-
Without giving too much away- the movie follows the story of the writer/director and his life journey through his relationships and how they were all affected by his addiction to prostitutes.
It is self effacing and humorous and presented in such raw honesty that it is hard to resist feeling warm and fuzzy toward the guy who is allowing the world such a candid view into his life.
Watch it if you can… it will educate you and entertain you all at once…just like a prostitute I supposeJ
In the midst of the movie I was texting back and forth with one of my closest guy friends- he lives in Florida.
He was saying how he felt he was getting the flu…
I replied back to him that if I were there I would make him some of my Mom’s homemade chicken soup …
And a scotch of course- the disease fighting combo of all time.
I could tell he was really sick- so I told him he just needed to make some hot tea and take a nice bath and get all snuggled up on the couch… I then asked if he knew any women that could come and give him some TLC…
Well, I guess men- even when flu ridden- automatically go to the thought of getting jiggy with it-
He replied back- “I have lots of women I could call for a little somethin’ somethin’… but I don’t feel like it.”
I guess he is used to my “sex cures all” theory…
I text him back jokingly and said, “Not that kind of a#$… chicken soup kind of a#$…”-
“ The kind that will come over and just hold you on the couch while you watch a movie and make you soup and tea and run your bath and put you in the bed… sometimes that is the best kind there is you know…”
He replied back, “You mean Chicken soup for the a#$?”…
“Exactly… every man should have one of those on speed dial.”- I replied
We both agreed that was blog worthy…
Last time I was sick I had no one there to run my bath- or hold me on the couch.
My Mom did make me her soup thoughJ
So tell me…
Do you have someone in your life who is your “Chicken soup for the a#$”?
